Dimapur, Nagaland | June 25, 2026: The University of Science & Technology Meghalaya (USTM) successfully organised the Institutional Excellence Award–2026, a Lecture on “NEP 2020 & Career Opportunities”, and the Felicitation of NBSE HSSLC Top Achievers–2026 at Dimapur on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
The prestigious event was graced by Shri Temjen Imna Along, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism & Higher Education, Government of Nagaland, as the Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Minister Temjen Imna Along remarked, “USTM has emerged as one of the most dynamic and progressive institutions in Northeast India. Today, it is not only attracting students from across the region but is also setting new benchmarks in academic excellence, innovation, research, and holistic development. A special lecture on the transformative role of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in reshaping India’s education ecosystem was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Darlando T. Khathing, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, North East Christian University.

During his address, Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Mahbubul Hoque announced various fellowships and scholarship schemes specially designed for meritorious students from the state of Nagaland.

Under this initiative, a total of 50 students will be selected for financial assistance based on academic merit. Of these, 10 outstanding students, including state toppers and high achievers, will be awarded full scholarships covering their academic fees. Another 15 students will receive a 50 percent tuition fee waiver, while 25 students will be granted a monthly scholarship of ₹2,000 to support their educational expenses. The programme witnessed an overwhelming response from students, parents, educators, and academic leaders from across Nagaland, making the event a grand success.
Established in 2011, the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) is the first state private university in the field of Science and Technology in North East India. The University was accredited with an ‘A’ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in its first cycle of assessment in 2021.
